Privacy notice
This notice covers Nathan Millar’s portfolio website. For privacy questions, contact hello@nathanmillar.co.uk.
Your choices
Analytics and viewing preferences are optional and off until you agree. Use Privacy settings in the footer to accept, reject or change each category. Declining does not prevent you from reading the site or downloading a CV.
Essential storage
We save your consent choices in local storage under “site-consent-v1” for 180 days, including a policy version and expiry time. This is used only to remember and respect your choices. We ask again after expiry. If browser storage is blocked, choices may not persist between visits.
Viewing preferences
With your permission, “cv-audience” stores the CV version selected by an application link and an expiry time in your browser for 30 days. This lets you return to the same version. Opening a version-specific link renews that period. Without permission, the link still selects the version for the current page, but we do not save it for another visit. We remove this stored preference when you turn Preferences off.
Analytics
With Analytics enabled, Google Analytics (measurement ID G-KWB49VS1PH) and Vercel Web Analytics help us understand visits, pages viewed and how the site is used. Both are blocked until you consent. We do not enable Google advertising consent or Google Signals.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies such as “_ga” and “_ga_KWB49VS1PH” to distinguish visits. We configure their lifetime to 180 days; activity may renew it. Information sent to analytics providers can include page URLs, browser and device information, referral information and interaction events. Network requests also expose an IP address to the receiving provider. Vercel Web Analytics does not use analytics cookies.
Providers may process information outside the UK. Their privacy information explains their processing and international-transfer safeguards: Google privacy policy and Vercel privacy policy.
Turning Analytics off stops future collection and removes the Google Analytics cookies this site can clear. The page reloads to unload analytics scripts. Withdrawal does not undo information already collected.
Hosting and correspondence
Vercel hosts this site and may process technical request information for delivery, reliability and security. If you email me, I use the information you provide to respond and manage the conversation. These activities are separate from optional analytics and are based on legitimate interests in running the site and responding to enquiries. Optional analytics and saved viewing preferences rely on your consent.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, or object to its processing. You can withdraw optional consent at any time. Contact me using the email above, or raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
